How I practice drawing people from the heart

I know that what I need sometimes for my own illustration work, is a prompt to start with. There are so many challenges out there that you can find, but I always find that the ones that I like best are the ones that I feel connected with in my soul. I’m a very emotion-driven artist and I like to make work based on feelings, fantasy and human connection. My challenges will revolve around this as well! I decided to try and add a regularly updated drawing challenge to my blog 🙂

For this first ever prompt, I’d like to start with something that is very close to how I started creating. It’s going to be drawing people from the heart. It’s no secret that I love to draw people. I’m a huge people person, and being around friends, family, and the occasional stranger really inspires me. A lot of my work is based off strangers I see on the street, stories I hear from friends or a small part of my family history. Do this at your own pace, and have fun!
